Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Services
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at Sanford Bemidji is a non-invasive, painless course of treatment for many illnesses and conditions. During treatment, patients breathe pure oxygen at a pressure of two to three times higher than the external atmosphere. The pressure increases oxygen saturation in the blood and surrounding tissues up to 1,000 percent. Increased oxygen delivery to tissue stimulates the release of growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing and fight infection.

The Hyperbaric Center uses the sophisticated Sechrist Monoplace 4100 Hyperbaric Chamber, the largest single-person hyperbaric chamber on the market. Our team of highly skilled physicians, nurses and technicians remain in constant contact with every patient throughout the treatment session via the chamber intercom. The roomy interior allows patients to rest comfortably in a reclined position, while breathing normally. Patients can listen to music, watch television or movies, or nap during treatment.

Depending on the medical condition being treated, sessions last about two hours.
