Overview
North Country Regional Hospital supports the involvement of family members in providing care for patients. While some patients and families are celebrating, others may be experiencing painful situations.
The following visitor guidelines have been developed to promote involvement of families in patient care, while also recognizing the needs for rest, privacy, and quiet times for all patients.
General visiting hours are from: 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Immediate family may stay with the patient beyond visiting hours, depending on the patient's condition, room status (private vs. semi-private), and agreement of the nursing staff. From 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., all visitors must enter through the hospitals west entrance and obtain a visitor pass.
- Visitors are expected to be respectful of the need for rest and privacy for all patients in the hospital. For patient's welfare:
- Keep visits short, preferably no longer than 15 minutes.
- Limit number of visitors to no more than two at a time.
- Refrain from loud talking and laughing which may disturb other patients.
- Refrain from using patients' restrooms, sitting on patients' beds, and from placing coats or other items on patients' beds. These requests are made to control the spread of infection.
- Disruptive behavior, intoxication, or substance abuse are not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
- Children must be under parental or adult supervision at all times.
- Visitors in large numbers may be asked to congregate in non-patient care areas.
- Only immediate family members of a minor patient (18 years and under) will be allowed to stay overnight. Permission must be granted by the nurse in charge. If the immediate family member is a minor, approval by the patient's parent or legal guardian will be requested.
