Recently, JoAnn Swiggum, Quality Management Technologist in Sanford Health’s Radiation Physics department, was awarded Sanford Health’s Radiology Excellence Award for her exceptional work and dedication at Sanford Bemidji Imaging. Swiggum was nominated by her peers and was notified of the award during a ceremony where she was presented with a Radiology Excellence Award pin and a plaque which will be on display in the Radiology Department in Bemidji. The Radiology Excellence Award is given to a Sanford employee who demonstrates the five Sanford values of passion, courage, family, resolve and advancement.
“JoAnn has broken the mold by providing excellent quality physics in our department while working under remote supervision. She exemplifies courage to take on new challenges, passion in supporting patient care, resolve to make quality improvements, personal and professional advancement in the field of radiology (she will be a speaker at a national conference in April) and commitment to family,” says Ann Bell-Pfeifer, Radiology Quality Management Technologist Lead.
Swiggum received her bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences in Orlando, FL. She holds her Radiologic Technologist degree from Lake Superior College, Duluth, MN, and an Applied Psychology degree from Bemidji State University.
