Sanford Welcomes Matthew F. Sanford, MD
Sanford Bemidji announces that Matthew F. Sanford, MD, recently joined Sanford Bemidji Main Clinic in the Radiology Department.
Dr. Sanford, a Bemidji native, attended Bemidji High School and was mentored by Dr. Dan DeKrey throughout his high school years. He later went on to attend the University of North Dakota - School of Medicine & Health (Grand Forks, ND) where he received his Doctorate in 2001 and completed an Internship in 2002. Dr. Sanford completed his Residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI). Following his fellowship in Wisconsin, he became a partner with Saint Paul Radiology, P.A. (St. Paul, MN).
In 2011, Dr. Sanford made the decision to further expand his training in Women’s Imaging and accepted a Fellowship at Brown University (Providence, RI), which he completed in 2012, prior to moving back to Bemidji. For patients concerned about their breast health, he is their biggest supporter. Fellowship-trained in women’s imaging, Dr. Sanford is excited to return to Bemidji to care for patients and to advocate for pioneering research that will end breast cancer. Once and for all.
He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Sanford is married and has one child.

I’m especially pleased, to see Matt practicing in Bemidji and bringing his extensive expertise in the area of breast health to women of the Bemidji area.”
